The Cinemas. Not really a fan anymore?

Walking out of a theatre is never going to be the same without those people that laughed with you , clutched your arm in fear or, entwined their fingers with yours. Some moments you can’t recreate and some emotions you can’t relive. For, loneliness hands you a new world and with that, a new perspective.

As much as you cherish time spent alone, there are uncountable minutes when a deluge hits your eyes or unforgotten voices whisper in your ears; when you wish the seat beside you wasn’t empty in the cinemas or you wish your evenings were filled warm embraces and heartfelt talk. And it’s in these split seconds you actually feel them- the parts of you that are empty, the missing chunks of who you once were.

And that’s how the movies you watch now seem less funnier or less impressive; because feelings awaken memories and what overwhelms you can cloud your heart with sobs- sobs, that your eyes won’t spill nor your face shall show.

When at first you feel dejected that everyone else has a friend, you get to a point where you comfort yourself with thoughts only you believe to be true – that none of these people will ever know the kind of love I did and, that not one of them has a friend better than the ones who were mine.

Little lies offer little comfort but if that’s what it takes to keep us going, we’ll gladly take it now won’t we?
